Amazing Car Race
Held in conjunction with SAFYC’s 40th Anniversary Celebrations

Most people should be familiar with the extremely popular American reality TV series – the Amazing Race. Now, let us put it into the SAFYC context and you get our Club’s first ever Amazing Car Race. Intrigued by the novelty of this event, a total of 11 teams signed up for the challenge to become the first ever SAFYC Amazing Car Race victor.

Spanning more than five hours and covering seven pit stops, the Amazing Car Race saw contestants journey around Singapore in a bid to emerge victorious in their battle against time and other teams. The race was flagged off from SAFYC Sembawang Clubhouse and ended in Changi Clubhouse to signify our Club’s growth and history over the years.

Under the blazing Saturday sun, team members had to overcome obstacle courses, create structures with their shoes and even hiked up to Mount Faber to get a glimpse of the clue that would enable them to continue to the next pit stop.

The hot and humid weather added to the heat of the competition. With constant cheers and encouragement, all team members managed to reach the finishing point well in time for the cocktail party in the evening. Feedback from the participants have been positive, with many citing it as “refreshing” and “exciting” family fun and bonding time.
