A CARNIVAL-licious Weekend
@ Carnival by the Straits (18 & 19 Nov 2006)

Nov 18, 19 - It was the time for the 'Carnival of the Year' again! 'Carnival By The Straits' (CBTS), held at SAF Yacht Club (Sembawang), officially kicked off on 18 November 2006, Saturday, under perfect weather and to the music pumping steadily in the background. More than 4000 Club members and guests turned up for the numerous activities available for the two days. Amongst favourites like the 'makansutra' or food bazaars and vendors selling a wide range products and apparels from bikinis, handmade accessories to imported health products; the highlight of the event is undoubtedly the dunking machine. Staff from both Clubhouses gamely offered to be dunked to raise funds for the event - not even sparing Mr Sim, GM of SAFYC, who was dunked for over 20 times!

Seasports lovers try out jet-skiing

Showcasing our hottest seasports activities, CBTS simultaneously posed as a great opportunity for seasports lovers to try out activities including kayaking, jet-skiing, sailing, banana boating and power boating at a nominal rate. From the ever-long queue on both days at the seasports booth, it was plain to see that most of them could not resist coming back for a few more tries at their favourite activity!

Even the slight drizzle on both days could not dampen the spirits of all who came, as they busied themselves patronising at the different vendors' stalls, including a popular hot spot for the kids at a guppy fishing corner, beer drinking competitions and line dancing performances.

The carnival came to an end with the lucky draw which saw winners walk off with attractive prizes such as PPCDL courses, resort room stays and food & beverage vouchers from our kind sponsors.

It was yet another successful CBTS, and we sincerely thank all who came to support the event. See you at our next Carnivalious weekend!
