Guest of honour
Mr Teo Chee Hean with RADM Chew Men Leong
The ceremony was graced
by Guest of Honour Mr Teo Chee Hean, who was accompanied
by Mrs Teo. Arriving to the melodious notes of the St.
Anthony's Canossian Secondary School brass band, they
were accompanied to the keelboat, Magic Dragon II to
take in the sight of the sail past flotilla.

The club was officially opened with the unveiling of
the helm by Mr Teo Chee Hean after the sail on Magic
Dragon II. Also present were Club Commodore RADM Chew
Men Leong and Chief of Defence, LG Ng Yat Chung.
|
| The whole clubhouse was abuzz with live-band
performances, stalls selling a myriad of goods and the
whirring of motors mixed with nature's symphony - the
crashing of waves against the breakwater. Sea sports try-outs
were made available to guests, and included banana boat,
powerboat, dinghy, keelboat and jet ski rides. |

Sunday saw the commencement of the
inaugural Horsburgh Challenge, Mini Sailability Regatta
and the much-loved fishing competition. The National Jet
Sports Championship kept spectators at the waterfront
caf? - aptly named WaterEdge Caf? - and boardwalk enthused. |
| The coda to the event
was a dinner reception, coupled with a lucky draw which
saw top winner Ng Kheng Hong walk away with a lifetime
of timeless relaxation as an Ordinary member of the Club.
Prizes for the Horsburgh Challenge were also given out.
RADM Chew Men Leong gave a rousing address as a prelude
to the presentation of the SAFYC Colour Awards. The festivities
ended on a high note with guests having an enjoyable session
of karaoke. |
